Niki Tsongas River Day at Assabet River NWR Visitor Center

For the past four years U.S. Congresswoman Niki Tsongas has held a "River Day", recognizing the ecological, cultural, historic, and economic impact of the rivers that knit together the 5th District. Her last stop this year was the soon-to-be open Visitor Center at the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge. A number of groups were given citations for their work in supporting the Refuge and its wildlife, in particular the threatened Blandings Turtle.
